How to Pay Favoyu Using Wise: A Smarter Way

Your bank is quietly taking a cut you probably don't even notice

Here's a scenario a lot of Favoyu customers know too well. You finally found the batik dress you wanted on Tokopedia, or that skincare set everyone in your group chat has been raving about, or a full box of Indonesian snacks your kids won't stop asking for. You add it all up, convert it in your head, and think "okay, that's not bad." Then you actually send the payment through your regular bank, and somehow the amount that lands is smaller than you expected, or the amount you need to send is bigger. Nothing was stolen. Nothing went wrong. Your bank just quietly took a cut through a marked-up exchange rate and called it a "convenience fee."

Multiply that by every order, every restock, every shipment. It adds up fast, especially if you're a regular Favoyu customer buying from Indonesia every month for yourself, your family, or your small resale business in Dubai, Riyadh, Sydney, London, or Kuala Lumpur.

This is exactly the problem Wise was built to solve, and it's why we recommend it to almost every customer who asks us "what's the cheapest way to pay you guys?"

Why Wise is the smart move for Favoyu customers

Wise (you might still know it as TransferWise) does one thing really, really well: it moves your money using the actual mid-market exchange rate — the same rate you'd see if you googled "USD to IDR" — instead of the padded rate banks love to hide fees inside. No mystery markup. No "we'll tell you the fee after you commit." You see the number, you send the number, and that's what lands in Favoyu's account.

For international buyers using our proxy shopping and package consolidation service, that difference is real money back in your pocket. A few dollars saved per transfer might not sound dramatic on paper. But if you're consolidating shipments monthly, or you run a small business reselling Indonesian goods abroad, those savings stack into something worth planning around.

There's also the speed and transparency angle. A Favoyu Wise payment typically clears within the same day or the next business day when you're sending IDR to a local Indonesian bank account, which matters when you're trying to avoid storage fees on a shipment that's sitting in our warehouse waiting to be paid for.

So let's walk through it properly. This is our full Favoyu international payment guide, written the way we'd explain it to a friend over coffee.

Step 1: Get your quote on Favoyu first

Before you touch Wise at all, log into your Favoyu dashboard and generate your invoice or shipping quote. This might be for:

  • A single order payment (we buy the item on your behalf from Tokopedia, Shopee, or an offline store)
  • A consolidated shipment (multiple items bundled into one box to save on shipping)
  • Or both combined into one invoice

Whatever it is, note the exact amount owed in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). This number matters — Wise will ask you to specify what currency you're sending, and getting this right the first time saves you a round of "hey, I think I sent the wrong amount" messages back and forth with our team.

Pro tip: screenshot your Favoyu invoice page before you leave it. You'll want it open side-by-side with Wise in a minute.

Step 2: Set up your transfer in the Wise app

Open the Wise app or website and start a new transfer.

  1. Choose your sending currency (USD, AED, SAR, AUD, GBP — whatever your home currency is).
  2. Choose IDR as the receiving currency. This is the whole point. You're converting at Wise's rate, not letting an intermediary bank do it for you at whatever rate they feel like that day.
  3. Enter the amount. Match this exactly to your Favoyu invoice total in IDR. Don't round up or down — send the precise figure.
  4. Add Favoyu's official BCA bank account details as the recipient. These details are listed in your Favoyu dashboard under your invoice or in your account settings. Double-check the account number and account holder name character by character. A single typo here can delay or misroute your payment, and nobody wants that conversation with their bank support line.
  5. Select the recipient type as a business/bank transfer, not a personal transfer, since you're paying a registered business account.

Wise will show you the fee upfront and the exact exchange rate before you confirm anything. Take the ten seconds to actually read it. This transparency is the entire reason this platform beats a traditional wire transfer.

Step 3: Confirm and pay the exact invoice amount

Once everything checks out, hit send. Wise will process the transfer and give you a confirmation once it's complete, along with a reference number and a transfer receipt.

Two things worth flagging here:

  • Pay the exact invoice amount, not a rounded number. If your invoice says 487,500 IDR, send 487,500 IDR. Rounding causes reconciliation headaches on our end and can slow down your order processing.
  • Save your confirmation. Screenshot it, download the PDF, whatever's easiest. You'll need it in the next step.

Step 4: Upload your transfer proof in the Favoyu Bills dashboard

This is the step people sometimes forget, and it's the one that actually gets your order moving.

Head back into your Favoyu account, go to the Bills section, find the invoice you just paid, and upload your Wise transfer confirmation or receipt screenshot. Our finance team verifies incoming payments against these uploads, so this step is what triggers us to confirm your payment and move your order into processing or your shipment out the door.

Skipping this step is the most common reason customers write in asking "why hasn't my order started yet?" — the payment landed in our bank, but we didn't have a way to match it to your account until the receipt was uploaded. So don't skip it. It takes thirty seconds and saves a day or two of back and forth.

A few tips for consolidated shipping and avoiding storage fees

If you're using our package consolidation service — bundling several purchases into one shipment to save on international shipping — a couple of habits will make your life easier:

  • Pay consolidated invoices promptly. Once your items arrive at our Jakarta warehouse and we generate your final shipping quote, items sitting unpaid for too long can start accruing storage fees. Nobody wants to pay extra just because a payment got delayed.
  • Batch your Wise transfers when it makes sense. If you know you have a shipping quote and a new order payment due around the same time, check whether combining them into a single Wise transfer session saves you on transfer fees versus sending twice.
  • Keep an eye on IDR rate movements. Wise lets you see the live mid-market rate, and if you're not in a rush, sending on a day when your home currency is stronger against IDR stretches your budget slightly further.
  • Set up a rate alert in Wise if you're a frequent shopper. It'll notify you when IDR hits a rate you're happy with, which is handy for planning bigger consolidated orders.

Wrapping this up

Paying for cross-border proxy shopping shouldn't feel like a guessing game with your own money. Once you've done a Favoyu Wise payment one time, you'll see why so many of our regular customers switched over and stayed. The rate is honest, the transfer is quick, and pairing it with your Bills dashboard upload means your order or shipment moves without unnecessary delay.

If you haven't tried it yet, open your Favoyu invoice, pull up Wise, and give it a go on your next order. And if you get stuck anywhere in the process — wrong currency selected, unsure about the BCA details, anything — reach out to our support team. We'd rather help you get it right the first time than have your shipment stuck waiting on a payment mix-up.
